Bulldog and Shatta Wale
Dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale has called for calm following the
arrest of his manager, Nana Asiama Hanson (Bulldog), as prime suspect in
the death of Fennec Okyere.
Fennec Okyere, who was the manager of the controversial musician, Kwaw Kese, was killed at his Manet Gardens residence on the Spintex Road, Accra on Thursday, March 13 by unknown assailants. He was 31.
Bulldog, who is also the CEO of Bull Haus Entertainment, was picked up around 15:45 hours Thursday in Kokomlemle, a suburb of Accra, as a prime suspect in the death of Fennec.
According to the Police Criminal Investigative Department (CID), Bulldog, the lead suspect in the gruesome murder of Fennec is alleged to have threatened to kill him.
The CID said Asiama Hanson sent several “threatening messages” both verbal and text, showing his intent to kill Fennec.
Shatta Wale, Artiste of the Year winner at the 2014 Ghana Music Awards, commenting on the arrest for the first time said fans should keep calm and allow the police to do their work.
"I know the luv u all have for the shatta movement crew. Let's all keep calm and let the police do their work. We hope everything goes well with this loyal and Great manager I have ever worked with Bull Dog," he posted on Facebook Friday.
ASP Joseph Benefoh Darkwa, Head of Public Relations at the Police CID, told Joy News the CID after “working tirelessly” to unravel the murder case, intelligence gathered suggested that Bulldog might have a hand in Fennec’s death.
“The intelligence is on the ground, the Homicide Unit is working and the information gathered pointed out that there was the need to arrest Bulldog for him to come and help us with investigations.”
Bulldog has been in police custody since Thursday.
