Comic actor Kwadwo Nkansah popularly known as Lil Win has urged story writers who script Kumasi movies to write good stories to bring investors into the industry. Most of the local movies produced in the Twi dialect have been criticized by many movie fanatics for lacking good storyline, Zionfelix.com has investigated. Speaking at a press conference to launch the new movie, Sundiata produced by Paul Gee Productions on Thursday, 6th March in Kumasi, the Kumawood poster boy pleaded that good stories like UTV’s popular telenovela ‘Corazón Indomable’ also known as ‘Wild At Heart’ which he referred to as Maricruz should be written for their movies to go international. He said Maricruz (who is a lead character in the series ‘Wild At Heart’) is a TV series most Ghanaians do not miss. Lil Win added that most drivers pack their cars, students rush after they have closed from school, ladies cook early for the reason that they all want to watch the series because of how interesting the it is. According to Lil Win, good movies will boost sales and take Kumawood movies international which will bring in more investors to support the local movie industry. He continued that actors do well to give out their best because they want their fans to benefit for buying their movies. He further asked actors to improve on their previous performances to get more roles. “ What will you do if you are paid for a movie and the producer runs at a lost? That means your are not a good actor. We should not think about our interest but make sure we put in our best to produce good movies”. Lil Win said acting with Nigerian veteran actress Patient Ozorkwo in their soon-to-be-released movie, ‘Mama Africa’ is a dream come true because she is a great actress in Africa. Present at the press conference were Nigerian actress Patience Ozokwor, Rose Mensah aka Kyiewaa, Kwadwo Nkansah Lil Win, Akrobeto, Paul Gee, the media and other stakeholders in the entertainment industry.
