The Ghana Football Association has confirmed that it has finally sealed the deal to play Montenegro in an international friendly in March.
This comes one week after Ghana’s leading football news website GHANAsoccernet.com exclusively reported that the Black Stars have lined up a friendly against the Brave Falcons.
The GFA spokesman Ibrahim Sannie then refused to confirm or deny that the match was in the offing insisting that journalists must wait for the official announcement.
Now the GFA has issued a statement revealing that they have reached a deal to play the match against Montenegro in in Podgorica.
According to the Ghana FA, ‘the Black Stars will play the Brave Falcons in the international friendly game on 5 March’.
The match against Montenegro forms part of the Black Stars preparation for the World Cup in June.
The game will be played at the Stadium Pod Goricum in Podgorica.
The match will kick-off at 1800 local time.
The Ghana-Montenegro friendly is expected to be the last exercise for head coach Kwasi Appiah before he names his final squad for the Brazil FIFA World Cup in June.
Ghana is drawn in Group D of the World Cup alongside the United States, Portugal, and Germany.
Do you think this is a good friendly for coach Appiah before he names his World Cup squad? Make your views known in the box below
