TeePhlow is The Next Big Thing After Sarkodie – Hammer

Legendary music producer, Edward Nana Poku Osei known in showbiz circles as Hammer, has unearthed and trained many Ghanaian musicians who are doing great in the industry currently. He has turned ‘mere’ artistes into prolific ones. Obrafour, Sarkodie, Edem, Tinny, Kwaw Kese and other well-known hiplife artistes have been successful because they were groomed by him. He is credited as one of the pioneers and key figures in the popularization of Hiplife or Hip Hop made in Ghana.

The founder and CEO of The Last Two Music Group publicly announced the signing of his newest act, TeePhlow not long ago with the release of Kwaw Kese’s latest single ‘Swedru Agona’ which also featured Obrafour. Hammer has disclosed why he signed the Fante Rapper on his record label The Last Two Music Group.

Speaking to Radio Univers’ Bra Chef, the music producer who released Execution Diary compilation in 2003 said he signed Teephlow after he realized he has the traits of a great artiste.

“When I talk about the next big thing, I’m not talking about him being responsible for the next biggest hit song but being an artiste you can be proud of. He is the next big thing.”

“He is closest to what I saw in Sarkodie in 2007 and 2008. The brain power, the intelligent and the ability to think on their feet; these are the traits of a great artiste” he added.

According to him, TeePhlow is exceptional from the young Ghanaian musicians who are making hits now.

“TeePhlow writes a verse in less than ten minutes. If I open a beat here in my studio and I ask him to write a verse, he does it in less than ten minutes. That is the power of a great artiste.”

The lifetime achievement award honoree by Ghana Meets Naija concert organizers said Teephlow has exhibited features of a superstar.

“I believe TeePhlow is the next big thing because he has displayed prowess that are traits of a superstar. You know as Sarkodie grew from a talented artiste to a superior artiste, TeePhlow is going to also grow from a talented artiste to a superior artiste”.
