Organisers of the World Music Awards have confirmed Ghanaian songstress Efya Awindor will perform at the 2014 edition of the event set for 27th May 2014 at Monte Carlo, South of France.

This was announced by Efya's Manager on Wednesday. "We are incredibly excited and beyond proud. The World Music Awards just confirmed Efya to perform during the awards," she said.

The World Music Awards rewards the best-selling music artistes from every continent and is decided by votes.

Efya, Sarkodie and UK-based Fuse ODG, have received nominations for the 2014 World Music Awards.

Efya’s hit track Best In Me is nominated for Africa’s World Best Video and Africa’s World Best Song. She is also nominated in other categories including Africa’s World Best Entertainer of the Year, Africa’s World Best Live Act and Female Artiste categories (respectively). In all, Efya has five nominations.

The reigning best Ghanaian female vocalist has also been nominated for the Best Female award in Africa’s most respected music awards show – the MTV Africa Music Awards. This brings to seven the awards she’s been nominated for this year.

She has taken to her official Facebook page to thank his fans and team and ask for further support to win all the awards she’s been nominated for.

“This year has been a blessing, Thanks to all my fans worldwide for the love and support and to my team for believing in me. A wise man once said ‘forward ever, backward never’. I got nominated 7 times this year; words can’t express how grateful I am. This is to all my fans and the organizations that help make this happen.”

Voting for the MTV Africa Music Awards and World Music Awards are all online.
